Welcome to the 2017 Wildkat Powerlifting Season!  If you have any questions for me specifically you can email me at hsavell@willisisd.org.
 
Powerlifting will not start until after football season is finished.  This can either be after the last regular season game or after the last play-off game...whatever happens later.

- Offensive Line/Run Game Coordinator, District Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, and Head Powerlifting

Since joining Willis High School the following strength and conditioning records have been broken:

Bench Press: Jimmy White, 415 lbs
Squat: Jimmy White, 600 lbs
Power Clean: Jimmy White 300 lbs
Deadlift: Coby Smith, 600 lbs
40: John Lewis III, 4.35 seconds
Pro Shuttle: Shane Harrison, 3.95 seconds

Congratulations to the 2016 Regional and State Qualifiers

This year the Wildkat Powerlifting Program was able to send 6 athletes to regional competitions!
 
On the girl's side was Hannah Havard, Skyler Thames, and Melanie McVay.  Skyler has qualified the past 3 years and Melanie has qualified the last 2.  Hannah is a recent move-in and was also able to compete in the Girl's State Championship in Corpus Christi this year where she finished the year ranked number 11 in her weight class.  
 
On the boy's side, Jaxen Halbaedier, Jonathan Jones, and Jimmy White were able to qualify for the Region 4 Boy's Championships.  Jaxen finished 5th in the regional competition while Jonathan finished 3rd and qualified for the Boy's State Championship where he will compete this Saturday in Abilene, TX.
